<AnLstudio : DISSOLVE>, from 12th January to 8th February 2013. The exhibition aims to experiment the space with an ordinary ‘matter’ – material, situation or characteristics of a substance – and an extraordinary particularity of a ‘matter’. It offers visitors an opportunity to explore the reinterpretation of the space by AnLstudio and understand their present statement on architecture in a broad sense. A capsule is the medium which protects the content to reach the target spot and melt itself to deliver the content in need. AnLstudio uses the metaphor of a capsule to question the role of architecture as delivery and medium, and to propose their new architect’s point of view not as a constructor but as a destructor. Furthermore, they experiment on the materiality of melt-ability and dissolvability for new architectural material for construction, started from opposing the materiality of durability and indestructibility. The exhibition <AnLstudio : DISSOLVE> features an installation – assembled with thousands of capsule cells containing of protein – which symbolizes an organism. In nature, inorganic elements – earth, water, air and etc. – go through the process of construction to form an organic body. During the period of the exhibition, the protein-capsule installation will ‘DISSOLVE’ through the process of destruction or the regressive process of construction. AnLstudio claims that architects have to be warned of redundancy currently arising in contemporary architecture and act against it. This exhibition draws up their manifesto that human architecture is created upon questions and answers in relation to construction and destruction.
